Kick off the Ft. Lauderdale boat show season with The Triton's 7th annual Boat Show Kick-off Party. This year's theme is Oktoberfest, a German-inspired festival that began as nothing more than a wedding celebration. (Now it's the largest fair in the world and celebrates its 200th anniversary in Munich this fall.)

Scrounge up some lederhosen or dirndl, your favorite stein for sampling some of the dozen beers we'll have on tap, and that special fraulein or dude.

All at the Downtowner Saloon, 408 S. Andrews Ave. (Ft. Lauderdale, 33301), which is under the Andrews Avenue bridge on the south bank of the New River.
